Since 2003, Barbara Minishi’s creative path continues to guided by transformation, curiosity and desire for connection.

From her roots in the fashion and editorial photography, she has expanded her practice into the realms of film, sound design, and leading conceptual workshops, all while exploring the depths of her matrilineal lineage and the eco-feminine through her ongoing multimedia project, "The 13th Path."

In 2022, She directed and showcased her first VR (virtual reality) immersive project, Utawala, and created her multimedia NFT collection, Psalms of The Liminal, and directed her first short fiction film, Inheritance.

In 2022 she was inaugural Africa and Middle East regional winner Fujifilm GFX Challenge Grant 2021 https://fujifilm-x.com/global/special/gfx-challenge-program/2021/ for her project, Utawala, a travelling portrait series on women creating legacy and in 2023 she was inducted as Fujifilm’s first East and Central Africa Ambassador.

Barbara's creative journey is a testament to the power of listening to the inner call, embracing change, and redefining the boundaries of artistic expression.

Her fiction directorial short film debut, “Inheritance”, about a young woman reclaiming her voice is had its Kenyan premiere in March 2024.

She has themed 2024 as "Enchantment" and has initiated a mythopoetic trans-media project from April 2024 to March 2025 and welcomes collaborative and sponsorship support.

She is available for Directing and Photography commissions worldwide.
